Spring flowers

Capel Manor Gardens

Big Monkey monkeying around, do I look like a monkey? because I am a monkey she sang. Well, yes there's a certain resemblance. These "old" ruins by the way are neither old nor there by chance. You can buy them if you think your garden needs a special feature. I don't think the Queen will come to open it though like she did here.

Throughout the garden the Monkeys made some races and I was the goal post. Race you to Mummy one would scream and next thing I'd know is a push in the back to show that the winner has arrived.

Little Monkey admired the pretty flowers, however, he was most concerned who would water them as they desperately needed watering in his opinion. He'd do it but there was no watering can close by. We did see someone water the green houses a little bit later and Little Monkey got a little fright as he got a bit wet. But at least the worries about the poor flowers drying up were unfounded.

Big Monkey couldn't resist this temple and hey, when you've got the chance to play goddess you better use it, right?

Raindrops

It's been raining this morning. Perfectly timed for me to take photos of raindrops looking pretty.

Little Monkey's "mo bike":

The bird feeder dome:

And the indoors cover for the seeds:

After I was done the weather dutifully changed and it was lovely and sunny. I like it when it works like that.

Up and Down

This is how the sky looked like this morning, all blue and spring like. The cherry tree in front of our house will soon bloom I reckon.

These are the flowers I found in the corner of my vegetable bed. I remember vaguely planting a few seeds here and putting in a spent plant from a pot. Now all those are blooming right now, and all at once.

365 - 082 Spring portrait

I think I caught up with my photos.
Today was lovely and sunny, a real nice spring day.

This is how we started but she only let me take photos of her if she then was allowed to monkey around for the rest of the photos.

I have to confess in this case I like the monkeying around photos a whole lot more than the sweet posed one.

Spring - 365 - 060

It's Spring I insist and the plants agree. See the rhubarb is coming up.

I absolutely love the leaf on the left, how it is crumpled up, so pretty. It's poisonous maybe if I put it on my broccoli plants then the squirrel won't eat them anymore? At least we will have rhubarb crumble to look forward even it we won't have much broccoli.

Happy about all those signs of Spring, today there was sunshine even though it was very cold.

Not so happy about this though:

While I was out in East London this morning I suddenly realized that I had put my jeans with the pedometer still attached into the washing machine. All the time while I was out I tried to convince myself that I was mistaken. Sadly...

See the line going through the display? That is its new water feature...

365 - 056 Well, it's been sunny...

for a minute or two...

Little Monkey is well prepared. Well, we can't complain it has been very mild recently but rarely any sunshine. We have flowers coming out now. Little Monkey always loves sunglasses, he also loves pink. So a combination of those two are the Best! He always, always wears them upside down. If I change them round he looks at me like I'm mad and adjusts his glasses again, upside down.

I recently got a new phone, an iphone. I had to promise and swear to never let the kids touch it, ever! But of course one of Little Monkeys greatest joys is it to take photos. So I let him use my big camera. He nearly dropped it. Luckily he is now tall enough that the strap held the camera safely without smashing into anything. Still, not sure that's what Daddy had in mind? Time to dig out some cheapo camera for him to use.
Little Monkey likes his furniture. Normally he likes to take a photo but at the same time he wants to see what happens in front. This explains why his pictures always have such a funky angle to them.

365 - 037 It must be Spring soon

I noticed several snow drops in the garden yesterday. Makes m hopeful that Spring is on its way.

Even more from the daffodils

Now that the daffodils are out in force in my garden I picked one to make another colour experiment. This time with red food colouring and straight into the water the moment I put the flower in. And tataa within a few hours the veins showed up red. The cat and I were impressed. Big monkey - not so. When I showed her, she said, oh, yes in a way only a six year old going onto 15 can. Those schools, they do too much with them. How can I impress her with those little things? (I'm not really complaining.) Granted I never even thought of dyeing a daffodil but still... It reminds me of the garish coloured gerberas though. Who in their right mind thought it would be a good idea to turn those pretty flowers blue? Haven't seen them in a while, maybe they saw sense.
Anyhow, big monkey dressed up in spring colours for school today, we spent a long time looking for THE t-shirt with the bunnies from Grandma. Why is it that the thing one searches for is always at the furthest most place in the drawer hiding behind some garment that's too small?
