A day with Thomas the Tank Engine

As little Monkey loves trains and Thomas and his friends in particular I though he would love to meet them at the local steam railway. He was very excited and he hardly could sleep the night before. However, once we were there he suddenly got scared that we might get lost. He recently got a book in which the train follows the green light and ends up driving all the way through France, Spain, Italy and Switzerland before returning home without knowing that they had left England. He thought that might happen to us too. No argument could persuade him otherwise. He was so upset he didn't even want to see Thomas.

It took a lot of persuasion to get him onto the carriage pulled by Emily the Engine. Not even a Thomas flag could cheer him up.

Only on our way back he relaxed and believed us that we wouldn't get lost.

The Circus has been to town

Big Monkey spotted the flyers first, oooh, circus, she said, can we go? Then Little Monkey brought a flyer from school, ooh, he said, circus, can we go? I guess that meant for once they both wanted the same thing which is unusual. so off we went.

It was awfully hot inside the tent, but Baby Monkey enjoyed it. She watched with interest and she enjoyed the snack in the interval a lot too.

The trapeze act and the woman who changed her dresses when glitter was thrown at her were everybody's favourite.

Time flies...

It has been a couple of weeks again already since Grandpa came to visit. The Monkeys were all very happy as he quite obviously is a Monkey too, we even have photos to proof that. But I'm not brave to post them right now.

Yes, my Dad...

We went to the local steam train and had a look around. This time on the platform only as we will be coming back when Thomas the Tank Engine comes to visit soon.

Some Monkeys really love trains.
Little Monkey was most delighted to get a catalogue that shows all the Thomas engines, trains and track you can get. He spent a whole day studying it and quite possibly most of the the night too.

Other Monkeys aren't that taken by trains...

Monkeys

I'm doing a class with Jessica Sprague, so here's my attempt to frame up a photo prettily.

Not bad is it? But then it's rather easy and it's all very well explained.

Bodiam Castle

We had lovely weather this weekend so we went to explore the area. We visited Bodiam Castle.

Baby Monkey practised standing up some more.

Little Monkey didn't want to be photographed but he climbed up the tower of the castle to wave to Daddy and Baby Monkey who waited downstairs for us.

The castle looks very impressive but only the outside walls and the towers have survived.
