365 - 241 M & M mayhem

Here's a photo of the blue and green M&M selection we bought Sunday.

And this is how your tongue will look like after eating some...

More photos from the London Eye

London Eye

As it was a bank holiday weekend we decided instead of a little weekend trip we would go on the London Eye.

From the top we could see Alexandra Palace.

Little Monkey was a bit worried at first and wouldn't get up from the bench in the middle of the cabin. Only after a while he ventured a bit closer to the glass but only for a short time.

We were really lucky with the weather, it was nice and sunny while we were on the London Eye so we could see very far and the view was very clear.

M & M World

I couldn't quite believe it but there is a four storey shop in London dedicated to M & Ms.

You can buy anything from pillows, cups, clothes, balls to cat toys. Oh, and alarm clocks.

And sweets of course. Here Big Monkey clutches our special sea coloured baggy of green and blue M & Ms that we chose from the containers. (and her Playmobil dragon who joined in)

This is Little Monkey after he met Green. Well, can't blame him really. They are normally a lot smaller and not adult size nor do they normally speak and mention his nice green wellie boots.

We only found this while searching for a Routemaster mug for Grandpa. We didn't find one in case you're wondering. But today's program was actually the London Eye and Chinatown. Photos from that tomorrow. Now I have to marvel at that lovely colour combination in the wine glasses...

Trains, trains, trains...

As so often Little Monkey set up one of his many train tracks. This is Thomas' shed with a really long train from the Brio train set. For some reason he didn't like me take a photo and ran away hopping up and down screaming no, nooo, noooo photo.

Then suddenly he insisted on me taking a photo. But just the way he wanted it. He told me where to point the camera and what should be on the photo.

365 - 235 Playtime

Big Monkey's favourite toy at the moment, her Playmobil castle.

I bought a big box of strawberries and raspberries on Monday, way too much for us to eat even though we tried hard.

In the end there was still nearly a kilo left so I decided to turn them into jam. I added a few frozen raspberries to make up a kilo. Just added special jam sugar, a bit of vanilla essence and a few leaves of mint. Cooked for a few minutes and that's it. Very nice and not too sweet jam, just the way we like it.

365 - 234 Weird things that come in the mail

Daddy Monkey has ordered this for his car when he drives in Germany. Because obviously the steering wheel on our cars are on the right which means overtaking is neigh to impossible. This mirror set is supposed to help. As you can see it comes very well described. In Russian. But no problem if you can't read this, they included a translation... into Polish! Gee, thanks.

365 - 233 In the Garden

I took a few photos of flowers today.

I do love Echinaceas, don't they look gloriously stately?

Little Monkey's first trip to the cinema

This morning we went to see Cars 2 as Little Monkey spied a picture of the racing car and was so excited he wanted it. Right now, Right there.

That was Saturday morning and he hadn't forgotten by the evening. So I thought, why not, gives us something to do we not normally do.

Hence we set off rather early for a Sunday morning to track to one of the few cinemas that still showed the movie. He didn't want to wear his 3d glasses, bless him. They made it too scary, he said. He did enjoy the movie and particularly liked the train and the fire engine which had only very short appearances. Still, them being there at all made it worth the while, he is just such a train and fire engine lover. Towards the end he got a bit antsy and couldn't wait to get home which put a stop to my hopes to have a browse through the book store next door.

365 - 330 and a new project

We went to build a super duper enormous train track at Mrs Wookie's house.

Big Monkey wasn't as keen so she made Potato Heads.

I know the photos are out of focus but that's the fun of the Hipstamatic app for the iPhone. I love the results, they always are so unexpected. So I thought it would be good fun to make an album. As it is I'm a bit behind with the Stacy Julian class on Big Picture Scrapbooking and the task for the week for me is to think up an idea for a new theme album. Sorted. I like it when things come together naturally.

365 - 229 Laundry tales

As always when coming from a trip there's the washing machine to entertain. Which really is no problem, wouldn't know what to do without it. What I don't understand however is, where does all that washing coming from? I start with a couple of heaps that look like four loads the most and then I end up filling the machine four days in a row all day long. How is that possible? The laundry must be breeding. Which would explain the masses of socks I have now to put away...

Butterflies in Germany

We went away to Germany and stayed in a hotel where there wasn't any internet reception in our room in the outbuilding. Only on the courtyard which was already used by several mosquitoes who wanted to be paid...
Here are a few photos from the garden of our new house which we hope to move to at the end of the year.

Large White, when I was little my Grandmother always called it Lemonbutterfly, which might or might not its official name in Austria. In any case I do like that name better. Way cuter.

Small Tortoiseshell

My favourite, the Peacock. Aren't the colours gorgeous?

Red Admiral

I'm not sure what this one is called, I couldn't find it on this website for certain. Translated from German it would big oxeye.
