Grandpa Monkey!

Grandpa came for a visit!

It's been a while since Grandpa came, but we enjoyed having him around very much.

Little Monkey was very happy to have found someone who shares his silly sense of humour.

Big Monkey just loves visitors and Grandpa visits in particular.

Christmas tree ornament

Missus Wookie got a die for a 3d-Christmas tree when she bought her Sizzix BigShot. I don't think she had any ideas on what to do with it. Neither did I to be honest. Until I spotted a Christmas tree ornament swap in my Yahoo group. So I signed up solemnly with the intention of using that die. Not sure what I would have done if Missus Wookie had gotten rid of that. I looks good Big Monkey and I thought. It's that trim you know, sells the whole thing...

RAF Museum Hendon

The Monkeys wanted to go and see the airplanes at the museum.

Most of the airplanes are rather old so can't be touched but there is an interactive section where little ones can sit in a helicopter or a glider. There are also lots of things to try out about physics that pilots need to know.

The museum was surprisingly empty so there were lots of chances to try everything out and have a go. Everybody's favourite was the beach ball that one had to balance over a stream of air and then shoot through a hoop. Little Monkey was too little to hold the air stream but he had a blast to fetch the beach ball.

Time in the Park

See the lovely sunshine? The child running around? So why did I have to drag them out of the car in the park on a day like this so they could have a run around?

Surely it can't be because I would take funny photos of us?

Or because the playground was too empty?

Or because we would run through the leaves?

Hipstamatic Friday

It was a lovely sunny Autumn Day.

Hitchhiker

Big Monkey and I found this little passenger on top of our car trying to hitch a ride. Not sure we went her way though as it was way to cold for a wasp this morning.

Tropical Zoo

We went to the Tropical Zoo in Kew yesterday. They rescue exotic animals from people who can't look after them, from Heathrow airport exile and quarantine, the RSPCA and occasionally when fished out of the river Thames.

They have loads of different animals, fish, birds, reptiles, toads... luckily they only one that have been found in the Thames were turtles at least no crocodiles were mentioned. They had one enormous one that I wouldn't want to meet anywhere.

There are lots of chance to meet some of the animals up close. Little Monkey was a bit worried and wanted to be carried. He mostly stayed well back but would occasionally touch one or the other. Strangely refused to feel the chinchilla which absolutely everybody else gave a cuddle. I never managed to take a photo though, as he was very quick and then turned away.

This one was our favourite, she was a very friendly iguana lady and let us all have a stroke without getting annoyed.

Daddy Monkey got to hold a real life dragon - a bearded dragon from Australia that is. Very pretty and cute he was I thought.

Big Monkey was fine with the python, really! She commented on how funny it felt when the snake moved.

Big Monkey liked all of them but said that she was slightly disappointed that they only had one cuddly animal to  pet, the chinchilla.

and fun was had by all...

Today I was lucky enough to spend a day with these lovely "ladies". You know Missus Wookie.

This is Missus Wookie's Mum.

This is our residential messy player and artist Miss L.

We meet once a month to create cards and scrapbook layouts. Missus Wookie's Mum had created lots of layouts but chose to have a photo with her cup of coffee taken. Fair enough, vats of coffee and tea are always consumed otherwise no creativity would be possible. Chips, too, are a necessity and  the Fish&Chip shop does good business particularly thanks to Miss L.
Yes, I think it can safely be said that we all had a great time and lots of fun.

Hipstamatic Friday

At the local soft play centre.

Big Monkey is practicing.

Hipstamatic Friday

We went to the park with the best playground.

Little Monkey brought his "scooter-mo-bike".

He got to climb on his "boat".

Big Monkey pushed Little Monkey on the roundabout and still managed to pull silly faces.

The Autumn colours are still fabulous.

Hipstamatic Friday

As per usual posted on Saturday.

We organized the bookshelf in the playroom and suddenly got a lot more space. Of course we had to read a few we found again.

Pumpkin heads

While we were in Germany selecting floors and kitchens the monkeys selected pumpkins to carve.

Germany

Daddy Monkey and I had to go to Germany for a day to do exciting things like choosing wooden floors, lino tiles, rubber floors, ceramic tiles...

We drove past asparagus fields.

The wooden flooring company is in an old factory near Potsdam.

It looked very pretty. There was a nature reserve at the back for some kind of newts that are only local to this area.

Daddy Monkey has booked a nice car in form of a 3series BMW for us and was worried all during the flight that he would get a smaller one instead like the last few times. He was all prepared for driving another little Ford but alas it wasn't the case. We were lucky and got offered a very nice, shiny 6 series BMW cabrio. Not that we had any intention of opening the roof. Even though it got sunny around lunch time but it was proper October weather and temperatures.

Daddy Monkey was so very happy. He even got to drive it on the German Motorway.

It was very, very good to drive apparently and simply marvelous and he got to push lots and lots of buttons to adjust this and that and a lot of things you never knew that could be changed.

But we didn't fly all the way to drive nice German cars we came to look at nice German kitchens, which we did extensively.  Oh, the choices, what front, what colour, handles? And then all the accessories, oven in a drawer, oven with escalator? Black sink, white sink? Glass doors with big frame, small frame, metall frame... In the end our heads were spinning and that was even before we heard the price!
